What you get out of this vegan tour is 3 hours of deliciousness and probably some fun! I will show you the best vegan spots in town through the hidden alleys of Saigon under your Google Map Radar :)
This walk isn't about ticking off names of famous foods. It's about stepping into the city, the way locals feel it: the sizzle of pan meeting oil, the aroma of herbs crushed between fingers, the sound of aunties laughing down alleys so narrow you can touch both walls with your hands. Funny-looking dogs and cats looking at you. It is a place where nothing is polished, but everything is real.
We'll be taking our time, like catching up with old friends. Simply following the sounds and scents and stories wherever they come from, and however that day the city chooses to let us in on its mood.
Every dish served will be vegan, prepared the traditional way and not remade for tourists, but authentic comfort food that Vietnamese families have been cooking for decades, plant-based.
Food is good. But what stays with you long after the tour maybe isn't the menu but it's the moments. It's the feeling of sitting on a tiny stool, sharing food with strangers who suddenly don't feel like strangers anymore.
I make this tour so you can connect and make friends with other vegan travelers but I am alone and very suck at marketing, so sometimes the only friend you make that day is me. Also, I am introverted so in the beginning it will be slightly awkward but not too much.
I will send you my vegan itinerary from my experiences traveling in Vietnam to bring you some peace of mind.
We will eat a lot but we will walk 7000 steps during the tour so I think it's not too unhealthy.
Street food is alive and the lineup shifts a little because some vendors open, some take a day off. But these are the dishes we work through:
Hidden alleys where life spills out in every direction. A Communist-era apartment block that feels like a memory. A morning market if we go early, alive with colour and tiny everyday dramas. Corners of Saigon that don't try to impress you but somehow do anyway.
7000 steps. About 5 minutes of walking between each food stop. Come hungry. Skip lunch. Maybe have a run before the tour.
Not suitable for wheelchair users, people with diabetes, or people with high blood pressure.
Not included: hotel pickup and drop-off. Transport to the meeting point is on you.
In front of the Venerable Thich Quang Duc Monument, District 3. I'll send the exact location with a photo after you book.
Fully vegan. I check every dish before it comes to the table. No fish sauce, no shrimp paste, no hidden eggs or dairy. If I'm not certain, we don't eat there.
Yes. A lot of non-vegan guests join this walk out of curiosity and enjoy it. The food is good regardless of what you normally eat. It's not a compromise version of Vietnamese food. It's just a different selection of it.
Tell me when you book. Gluten-free and nut-free are usually manageable. The more specific you are, the better I can plan the route. Some combinations are harder than others but I'll be honest with you about what's possible. Note: this tour is not suitable for people with diabetes or high blood pressure.
Morning is good for produce-heavy dishes and the freshest stuff. Evening has a better atmosphere and a couple of spots that only set up later in the day. Ask me what's right for your dates.
Message me on WhatsApp. Tell me your dates and whether you're thinking morning or evening. I'll sort the rest.
